Character Slots
Raise several characters on one account. Covers slots, naming rules, what is shared and what isn't, and deletion.
You can raise several characters on one account.
Slots
You can have up to 30 characters per account. There's nothing to pay to unlock them, and no way to buy more with money.
Once you have 30, the "+ New Character" spot on your roster turns into a notice. To make more, you'll need to delete an existing character first. Deleted characters can't be restored, so please read "Deleting" below first.
However, if you're playing as a guest, you can create only 1 character. For details, see Playing as a Guest.
You can drag characters to reorder your roster.
Names
A character's name is final once you set it at creation. It can't be changed later, so choose carefully. It must be 2–16 characters, letters and numbers only, and you can't pick a name another player is already using.
⚠ There's just one exception — when staff require a name change because the name violates the Code of Conduct. In that case you can't enter the game with that character until you choose a new name, and once you do, you carry on as before.
Your account's nickname is a different story — you can change it as many times as you like, and after each change you can change it again 30 days later. The nickname is your account's name, used on the community board, while each character has its own name. (My Page)
What's shared and what's separate
| Gold · Inventory · Gear | Separate for each character |
| Union | Membership belongs to the character, not the account. It opens automatically at Lv.15 — there's no separate joining process |
| Community posts | A separate board unrelated to the Union, and the only thing tied to the account. You can delete your own posts even after switching characters |
| Storage | None. There's currently no way to pass items between characters |
⚠ Since there's no account-wide storage, your second character has to gather everything from scratch. There's no way to hand down your first character's materials, so keep that in mind before you start.
Why raise more than one
Each class fights differently. Content that has one character stuck can be a breeze for another class. Even in the same region, a character whose elements match up well takes far less damage.
Deleting
Deleting a character takes almost everything of that character with it — Inventory, gear, Gold, records, all of it. With no storage to move things to, there's no way to undo it.
- To prevent accidents, you have to type "DELETE character name" exactly.
- Before deleting, we'll tell you how many unclaimed World Boss rewards and Mail items you still have. Collect them first.
- However, records engraved in the Archive of Engravings remain. Those rankings stay on as a "Departed Challenger."
