Codex
The three record books — monsters, gathered materials and gear — and the rewards for filling them. Also covers filtering and when it's worth stopping by.
The Codex is a record of everything you've met and obtained along the way. It opens at Lv3.
Three categories
- Monsters — monsters you've slain are recorded by city and rank
- Materials — materials and potions you've obtained are kept by family
- Gear — gear you've obtained is recorded along four axes: rarity, affix, set and Signature
Cards with illustrations can be clicked to enlarge, and you can swipe left and right to browse that subcategory's illustrations.
Rewards
Once an entry passes a certain count, you can claim a reward. Rewards aren't delivered automatically — you have to visit the Codex to claim them.
When there's something to claim, a number appears on the menu tab. The Claim All button collects everything that's piled up in one go.
Rewards come in two layers — once when you first discover an entry, and once each time you fill a subcategory to 25 · 50 · 75 · 100%. Completing an entire category earns one final reward on top.
Monster Codex
Kills are counted separately for each kind of monster. If you meet the same monster in several regions, they all count toward one slot.
Elites and bosses have their own slots — killing only Normal monsters won't fill them.
Explore, the Spire and World Bosses each have their own group.
- Explore is divided by city, and each city has 75 Normal · 30 Elite · 15 Boss species. Each monster
appears in only one city, so you can fill in the gaps by revisiting cities you've passed through.
- Spire is divided into Normal / Elite / Guardian, with lineages beneath those.
- World Boss is divided by lineage.
You can pick a lineage (Beast · Warhost · Elemental · Plague · Wraith · Warden · Warped · Cultist) with the filter above the list. You can also show only what you haven't met yet, search by name, or show only entries with rewards left to claim.
Each card also lists the regions where the monster appears (for the Spire, the tower), the skills it uses, and the materials it drops.
Gear Codex
Gear rolls random stats every time it's made, so there's no such thing as "one kind" of item. That's why gear is collected along four axes.
- By rarity — each base in Common, Uncommon, Rare and Legendary. Within each rarity, it's further split by tier (T1 Lv1–10 … T7 Lv61+)
- By affix — the modifiers attached to item names, grouped by what they apply to
- By Set — five pieces per set, grouped by required level
- Signature — Legendary gear that regional bosses leave behind under their own name. Fifteen per city, 240 in all
Signature gear drops only from regional bosses. Bosses appear only on the final step of an expedition, and not every region has one — only half of a city's 30 regions have a boss in residence. Each region's card tells you who's there, so if you're after a particular Signature, start there.
Filters
With the chips above the list you can pick a lineage (monsters) or a type (gear — Armor · Weapon · Accessory), and there are Undiscovered · Claimable toggles and a name search as well. When you filter, "N / M shown" tells you how many cards are left. Filters reset automatically when you move to a different group.
Why stop by
Codex rewards are especially helpful early on. They fill up naturally as you explore — just don't forget to claim them.
