Union Exchange
Where your Union Points turn materials into other materials. Covers what's listed, how prices are set, and when it's worth using.
The Exchange is where you trade materials for other materials using the Union Points you've saved up. Union Merit isn't spent here — Merit isn't something you spend at all; it stays with you as a record in the form of your rank.
What gets traded
Materials for materials only. Elemental Essences count as materials too and move up and down with them. Consumables, chests and gear are not handled.
A trade always takes the shape "some of material A + Union Points → some of material B". It is not a place to buy things with Gold.
What's on offer
Three slots are laid out and redrawn every day at midnight Pacific Time (PT). They're distributed so that one slot is a same-tier trade, one trades up, and one trades down.
If you'd rather not wait, you can pay Gold to reroll one slot at a time. Each reroll on the same day doubles the price. The count is tracked per character, not per slot — you can't keep hopping between slots to reroll at the first price.
Level, not rank
The Exchange has no rank requirement. What decides the materials on offer is level — both the material you give and the one you receive must be ones you can already obtain to become candidates. That's why trade-ups don't appear at all at low levels, and all three slots end up as same-tier trades.
Conqueror's Sigils, Enhancement Cores and Soul Remnants aren't handled by the Exchange. Legendary-tier Essences are never given out (you can trade them in) — that tier is meant to be reached only through disenchanting.
How prices are set
- The further up you trade from a lower tier to a higher one, the more steeply the Union Point cost climbs.
- Same-tier trades cost little.
- Trades down cost no points. But you don't get any back either.
- In either direction, the Union takes a ten-percent cut. You can't profit by trading back and forth.
- Trades only move up to two tiers at once. A trade that jumps from the very bottom straight to the top never appears.
- You can repeat the same trade in a slot several times in a row.
When to use it
It's most valuable when crafting stalls because you're stuck on one particular material. Someone hunting where only herbs drop can get minerals here — that's the whole reason the Exchange exists. Trading down is for players with surplus high-tier materials who want to stock up on lower-tier ones.
