Soul Legion
Seal the lingering spirits of fallen foes so they fight beside you. Covers sealing, deployment, temperament, growth and evolution, and Resonance.
The Soul Legion lets you gather the lingering souls of enemies you've defeated and have them fight alongside you. It opens at Lv3.
What souls are there
A soul isn't one per enemy — it's a whole group of enemies sharing the same element and rank, bundled into one. For example, "Soul of the Cinder Beast" is the soul left behind by the common Fire enemies.
So any enemy of the same kind drops the same Remnants, whichever one you defeat. There's no need to hunt one specific monster.
- Explore — 8 elements × 5 ranks for 40 souls, plus 8 Legendary Awakened souls, for 48 in all
- Rift Spire — 8 elements × 2 types (floor enemies / gatekeepers) for 16 souls
- World Boss — 34 souls. These are unique to each boss
Binding
You bind souls using the Remnants you earn in battle. Binding isn't automatic — you have to do it yourself on the Soul Legion screen.
You can only bind a group you've defeated at least once, and higher ranks need more Remnants. When there's a soul you can bind, a number appears on the menu tab.
Elites and bosses always drop Remnants the first time you defeat them.
Deploying
Binding alone doesn't make a soul fight. You have to deploy it before it joins battle.
Deploying costs Command. Each soul costs a different amount of Command, so build your lineup within your limit. Command grows as you level up, and you can buy a little more with Gold. You can bring up to 4 souls at once.
Roles
Every soul has one of four roles.
- Attacker — strikes alongside you
- Guardian — takes hits for you
- Disruptor — inflicts status effects
- Supporter — heals and assists
Guardians take damage that would otherwise hit you. They pull their weight in places like the Spire, where many enemies rush you at once. However, there's a limit to how much they can absorb — no matter how many you bring, most monster attacks still land on you. Souls share the load; they're not a shield.
Growth and evolution
Souls you deploy and fight with earn EXP and level up. However, souls don't gain EXP in the Spire (only their Bond deepens) — the places to raise your souls are Explore and World Boss. Collect more Remnants to ascend a soul and add stars; this also costs elemental materials.
Evolution is an optional step beyond that. Right now the Legendary souls of the eight elements each have an Awakened form, and once you have the level, Bond and materials, they transform into something stronger. Evolving doesn't reset anything you've built up.
Awakened forms aren't shown in the list ahead of time. They can only be reached by passing through the door of evolution.
Resonance
Deploy two or more souls together and hidden Resonance bonuses awaken. They trigger when you group souls of the same element, the same role, the same lineage or a similar level band, or when you assemble a specific combination.
There are only positive effects and no clashes — a random lineup never puts you at a disadvantage.
This is different from the Rift Resonance gauge in the lobby. That one is a server-wide meter that fills over several days; the Resonance here is a bonus applied on the spot by your lineup.
