Talents & Paragon
Talent tree branches, spending points, unlocking skills here, and respeccing. Continues into Paragon once the tree is full.
Talents are a path, separate from level, for specializing your character. The tree opens at level 3.
Points
You get a talent point every time you level up, plus one extra point every five levels.
Branches
Talents are split into several branches, each with its own character. You have to take the earlier steps before the later ones open.
Pushing one branch all the way is stronger than dabbling in several. Later nodes require points invested in that branch, so if you spread your points out, you won't unlock the upper nodes of any branch.
At the end of each branch is a game-changing Capstone. In a skill branch you can pick only one of three Capstones, so decide how you'll use that branch before you go in.
🔴 Skills unlock here
Skills aren't learned from level alone. You have to take that skill's node in the talent tree to get it. Each class has eight, and each node has a set level at which you can take it.
Unlocked skills must be placed in your Combat Slots before you can actually use them.
Look at them alongside reactions
Some talents strengthen reactions. Look at the branch that stacks marks together with the one that detonates them, and the combinations will jump out.
Respeccing
You can reset your talents and assign them again. You can refund a single node or undo the whole tree; both cost Gold. No choice here is permanent.
After that, Paragon
The tree fills up somewhere around level 90. After that, Paragon carries your growth, and the Paragon board can be rearranged for free. Experiment as much as you like.
