Boundless growth, relentless hunt

Gear Crafting

Blueprint crafting versus random crafting, how to unlock Blueprints, and the material and Gold costs. Union-exclusive Blueprints included.

Crafting is how you make gear for exactly the slot you want. It frees you from relying on drops alone.

The Craft Gear menu opens at Lv12, and it holds three stations — Armor (Lv12) · Weapon (Lv15) · Accessory (Lv18). You handle all of them from one screen.

Two methods

  • Blueprint crafting — with a blueprint, you make gear with fixed stats. You know what you'll get before you craft it.
  • Random Forge — no blueprint; you only choose the slot. Stats and affixes are rolled at crafting time. Accessories don't have this option — they can only be made from blueprints.

How blueprints unlock

There are four ways to get blueprints. The most common of them is not drops but "building up progress".

  • Unlock by building up — once things like disenchant count, Spire floors, enhance attempts, successful crafts, World Boss kills, completed explorations or finished gathering runs pass a certain number, the blueprint unlocks by itself. More than half of all blueprints come this way.
  • Drops — a handful of specific Explore regions and a few World Bosses drop them.
  • From the start — a few are already unlocked when you begin.
  • Some unlock through Codex rewards and Union Points.

So there's no need to grind one specific region when a blueprint won't unlock. Just keep doing what you normally do and your collection grows by itself. Once a blueprint is unlocked, you can keep using it.

Many blueprints are split by class. Only the ones your class can use show up in the list.

Blueprints have no level requirement

No blueprint is off-limits because your character's level is low. If you have the materials, you can craft it.

The level printed on a blueprint is the level of the gear it makes — it sets the price, the amount of materials, and the finished item's required level to equip. So you can also craft ahead and equip the piece once you reach that level.

Materials

Gear crafting eats a lot of materials. Keep stockpiling them through Gathering and drops.

Higher-tier recipes also call for lower-tier materials. Don't sell off all your early materials.

Higher-level blueprints also require Conqueror's Sigils.

Gold

On top of materials, crafting costs Gold.

  • Random Forge gets more expensive as your character's level rises.
  • Blueprint crafting follows the blueprint's level — the price doesn't go up just because your character has grown.

Union-only blueprints

The Union has high-level accessory blueprints that can be crafted only with Union Points. You pay in points instead of Gold. See Union.
